My advice to future students would be that if you need to take a loan, take it. It would be worth it.
I had to take the GRE and TOEFL exam. I prepared through on my own through Barrons and a lot from the net. I think coaching classes cant make you learn English until you study on your own. However, one might take GRE tests on computer or register with a coaching institute. I didnt hire a counselor as I knew I wanted to go to USC.I needed a visa and the interview was really simple and not at all scary. Tickets could be booked online easily. I flew by Air India (cheapest) they didnt offer me any students discount but the gave me an extra luggage allowance. The air line was average. I landed at LAX which is 25mins from USC campus. No immigration issues were faced. The University had no representative to escort us.
I dont have any assistance but I have many part time jobs which are fairly easy to find if you have the caliber.
The program is very unique. Its excellent!! The professors are amazing!!I The lecture halls are spacious and very well equipped. The library is quiet and very huge.
I live off campus. Sports facilities are very good too. The city has an excellent night life probably the best in the world, but the city is equally unsafe. The weather is pleasant throughout the year. There in an International society which carries out Indian festivals.
We have a placement cell. Placement depends solely on knowledge not nationality. The campus placement is very renowned. There is a career portal and an annual career fair. Around 100 companies visit for each career fair (General and Engineering) .I dont know about work permit as of now. There is no alumni society. The alumini although help with placements.
