I have worked in the education sector for over 18 years and have held many posts, including ones in teaching and management, which enabled me to enroll on a top-up course at Bucks New University to add to my existing qualifications and gain a degree. As a mum of two, I juggled my busy life and full-time employment to complete a BA (Hons) in Professional Studies at Buckinghamshire New University and I was awarded a 2:1.

I completed the course over 12 months and found it to be very flexible, fitting in well with my busy lifestyle. Although it was a work-based learning degree, I was able to meet up regularly with fellow colleagues and offer each other advice and support along the way.

I made some good friends during my time as a Bucks student and intend to keep in touch with them. The degree taught me a lot about myself and I learned that with motivation, effort and hard work, a lot can be achieved in a short space of time if you put your mind to it. I will certainly continue my education, and, after a break I would like to complete a master’s degree.

ratingJob prospects

My future plans following the degree success are to start my own limited company offering business solutions, and to study further at a later date.
