Generally very enjoyable in Monash uni. Most important advice to the students is to find a work/play balance. I spent a lot of time studying in my 1st few years and it wasnt until later that i became more involved in the student organisations and clubs. Study hard but at the same time get involved in other activities in uni as well.
I entered through VTAC (after doing my VCE) which was based on ENTER. I thought this was a very fair process and information provided to me was timely. I did not have to complete lengthy application forms, which was a "+". Like any sort of application, start early! Very often you have to search for documents that you may not have at hand.
There were a number of university and privately funded scholarships available (i found out mostly through the internet site), of course, these are all very competitive. Nevertheless you can increase your chances of getting something if you make more applications. Students should look into youth allowance too.
The best bit of uni was studying with friends/people who are also passionate about things that you are interested in, you can "feed off each other". I study 20-30 hours per week. I had mostly good lectures and tutors but some were just terrible. I still cannot comprehend why the uni assists in hiring lecturers with accents so strong that no one can understand.
There were many facilities available on campus, its just a matter of finding out their existence. The uni could do more to promote, the students are generally very friendly.
This course has definitely increased more ob prospects. I dont know about any alumni association just yet but i will be interested to find about them in the days to come.
