John Cabot University offers an American education at affordable costs in the beautiful city of Rome.
Why did I choose this university?
I chose to study at JCU because I wanted to get in touch with my Italian heritage and learn more about where my family comes from. I also saw that JCU is a smaller university that would give me a chance to be a part of a community and get to know most of the students and professors. The size of JCU is also great because it gives professors the opportunity to really get to know their students and for students to get a one-on-one experience that is really helpful in a school environment.
There are two campuses at JCU, the Tiber campus and the Guarini campus. I personally spend most of my time at Tiber campus because the majority of my classes are here and because my friends come here whenever they have breaks between classes. I go to Guarini mainly to study because the library is there along with many quiet areas and a beautiful courtyard where lots of students like to hang out. It’s convenient for me because I live in the Gianicolo residence (one of JCU’s apartment-style dorms) that is only a five minute walk away from Guarini campus. It’s really nice on the weekends when I want to go hang out or study, or when I don’t have class but still want to spend time at school during the week.
I’ve lived in the Gianicolo residence for almost two years now. I find it very comfortable because I have just one other roommate and the apartment is a good size for the both of us. It is spacious and bright and, like I said before, in a very convenient location close to campus.
JCU is located in the center of Rome which is great because it gives students the opportunity to get to know the city really well. There are beautiful monuments all over Rome, and especially close to campus, that most people have only heard about or seen in the movies but that JCU students are able to walk to in just minutes.
