About Aviation Institute

The New Edge in Aviation Thinking- The Air New Zealand Aviation Institute…

The Aviation Institute was established in 2011, but has been built on 70 years of aviation training supply to its parent airline, Air New Zealand, and customers from around the globe.

What’s On Offer

International students can access the full spectrum of training programmes the Institute offers to Air New Zealand, all of which have operational industry experience embedded in them. This relationship ensures curriculum alignment with the latest regulatory, manufacturer or best-practice processes. Programmes are delivered by an international operator and two-time ATW Airline of the Year (2010 and 2012).

Campuses

The Aviation Institute has campuses in Auckland and Christchurch, New Zealand and four schools, 135 dedicated training staff, and 47,000 student enrolments in the last year.

School of Engineering

From pre-employment programmes for those entering the aviation industry for the first time, through to type training for licensed aircraft maintenance engineers, the School of Engineering will have a maintenance training solution to meet most airline, MRO, or individuals’ training requirements. This training is done globally at customer locations or at Auckland and Christchurch.
