Facilities & Services

Libraries:
QUT has a library on each campus, plus a specialist law library at Gardens Point. During semester each branch library is open seven days a week.

The study areas, group discussion rooms, computer laboratories, copying and printing services make study and research trouble-free. All libraries have laptop and wireless access.

QUT has extensive collections of electronic and print resources, and locally held books, multimedia items and print journals, specially selected to support your study. You can access full-text electronic journals, electronic books, lecturer-recommended readings and past exam papers via the library website.

Help is available in-person, or by phone, email, SMS, and chat, through the ‘Ask a Librarian’ service.

International Student Services (ISS):
QUT’s award-winning ISS is responsible for the general welfare of all international students. Services include:

• pre-arrival information and briefings
• airport reception
• accommodation services
• rientation programs
• personal advice, counselling and support
• English language assistance
• academic learning skills
• East-West program including social and recreational activities
• life skills and returning home workshops

Throughout the year, ISS also organises short trips and weekend activities for international students as well supporting international student clubs and societies.

Careers and Employment service:
QUT Careers and Employment provides free career planning and employment assistance to international undergraduate and postgraduate students. Services provided include a dedicated international careers counsellor, employer presentations and International Work Placement and Career Mentor Schemes.

Sports and recreation:
QUT provides a variety of sport and recreational facilities including a squash courts, fitness centres, tennis, netball, volleyball and basketball courts, as well as facilities for soccer, football and cricket.

QUT Student Guild:
The Student Guild at QUT provides recreational, sport and fitness facilities on campus for the University and the wider community.  From football to bands and BBQs, the Guild organises a range of leisure opportunities and multi-cultural events to meet the needs of students at QUT.
