Overview

Consider QUT
The key aim of QUT is to produce job-ready graduates with the skills and abilities to work anywhere in the world. Reflecting our global outlook, QUT has a student population of 40,000 students, and nearly 6,800 of these are international students from more than 100 countries.
This diversity supports QUT’s excellent international reputation in the design and delivery of its real world courses and research.

Why choose QUT?
  • QUT won more teaching awards than any other individual Australian university in the 2010 round or the prestigious Australian Awards for University Teaching.
  • QUT has a ranking of world standard or above in more than three quarters of its research assessed under the Australian government’s Excellence in Research for Australia assessment framework (2010)
  • QUT is the only university in Queensland to be awarded 5 stars for ’Getting a job’ in the 2011 Good Universities Guide.
  • QUT’s  School of Business was the first business school in Australia to achieve all three leading international accreditation symbols of excellence (AACSB, EQUIS and the Association of MBAs).
  • QUT has Brisbane’s only two full service inner-city campuses.

QUT’s Research Strengths
QUT research is characterised by high-impact outcomes and increasing international linkages. With more than 100 current collaborative research projects presently being undertaken in more than 50 countries, QUT has a strong track record in providing practical research solutions globally.

QUT’s research strengths are aligned with global, national and state priorities and the University has a proven ability to work with industry and the community to address issues relating to health, the ageing population, climate change, sustainable infrastructure development, security and the challenge of competitive advantage via creative innovation. The Australian HES has published a ranking of universities based on the Australian Research Council’s Excellence in Research Australia (ERA 2010) outcomes that ranks QUT 10th in terms of research quality.

QUT has long-standing research links with a number of leading international public and private sector organisations including SAP, Boeing, Microsoft, Shell, and the World Health Organisation.
Adding to our world-class record of success in applied research, QUT has around 1800 Doctoral and research Masters students.

Flexible study options
With more than 650 undergraduate and postgraduate options, QUT courses can be tailored to specific educational needs. Students can choose from a large range of programs in Built Environment and Engineering, Business, Creative Industries, Education, Health, Law and Justice, and Science and Technology.
