Location
Sydney is a cosmopolitan city that offers an exciting selection of entertainment, shopping and sightseeing. The city has a great public transport system and the main UTS city campus is just a 10 minute walk from the main railway and bus interchange, Central Station.
The UTS city campus is located right in the heart of Sydney's cosmopolitan central business district (CBD). Students can take in all of Sydney's sights and attractions all of which are just a short walk or bus ride away. The city campus includes two main sites, UTS Ultimo and UTS Haymarket, as well as UTS Blackfriars and other teaching and administrative buildings in the area.
Ultimo campus:
The Tower building, a landmark on the Ultimo campus, houses 28 floors of lecture theatres, labs and tutorial rooms, not to mention bars, lounges and cafés. The newly completed multi-purpose sports hall includes an indoor sports court, a gym, dance studio and tutorial, and changing rooms, and is located under the alumni green and adjacent to the UTS Fitness Centre.
Surrounding the Tower is a number of faculty buildings along busy Broadway and Harris Streets, including the Engineering building, the Bon Marche building (Humanities & Social Sciences Faculty) and the Information Technology building. On the other side of Harris Street is the Peter Johnson building which houses the Design, Architecture & Building (DAB) Faculty, with its state-of-the art workshops, computer facilities and the thriving UTS Gallery & Art Collection. The newly opened 720-bed student accommodation is located above the DAB Faculty in the Peter Johnson Building, providing on-campus accommodation for students.
The local DAB café serves delicious gourmet food, and students and staff regularly meet in the sunny courtyard for working lunches.
Haymarket campus:
The Haymarket campus is only five minutes’ walk from the Tower building and is home to law and business courses. Across the road is the Market City complex, and China Town, the Entertainment Centre and Darling Harbour are all nearby. Haymarket is a colourful and multicultural part of Sydney.
Kuring-gai campus:
The Kuring-gai campus is located in Lindfield, a leafy and peaceful suburb on Sydney's north shore. The award-winning Kuring-gai campus building accommodates the Nursing, Education and Business faculties, classrooms and lecture theatres, the Kuring-gai Library, conference facilities and a fully-equipped gymnasium. It also houses the Union Centre and its licenced bar, eatery, bookshop and TV lounge.
Kuring-gai campus is about 20 minutes drive north of Sydney's central business district. Public bus services are available to the campus in Lindfield as well as a free UTS shuttle bus service that runs regularly between the Kuring-gai campus and City campuses.
