Brunel has highly qualified academic and research staff from all over the world, conducting research across a multitude of disciplines.

Brunel provides the opportunity to pursue a PhD or MPhil in all academic schools and research institutes across the University.
 
The University has several interdisciplinary research centres including seven specialist research institutes.

  • £14 million spent on 60 new research-led staff and five new research centres.

  • The Department of Information Systems and Computing is ranked top in the country in its area in terms of 'Research Power', while almost 60% of the research in the Mathematical Sciences Department has been rated 'World-Leading' or 'Internationally Excellent'.
