Accommodation

New students at Edge Hill live in a mix of on-campus and off-campus accommodation.

On-campus accommodation

The University has 31 halls of residence, which include both catered and non-catered accommodation, at its Ormskirk Campus, housing over 1000 students in single study bedrooms. Priority is given to first year students and to those with special requirements in the allocation of on-campus accommodation. Some halls are accessible by wheelchair and have purpose-built rooms equipped for disabled access.

On-campus facilities include the following:

  • Kitchen and bathroom facilities on every floor.
  • Rooms furnished with a bed, wardrobe, desk and chair.
  • Free wireless Internet access.
  • Resident Hall Managers, supported by Student Assistants, providing guidance and support.
  • 24 hour security.
Edge Hill offers a good number of rooms on-campus, but due to the high demand for the rooms, students are advised to apply as early as possible.

Off-campus accommodation

There is wide choice of off-campus accommodation available for students who are unable to find accommodation at the University. Edge Hill provides all assistance in finding off-campus accommodation for its students.

Some options:

  • Ormskirk offers a range of student housing, mostly shared houses.
  • Towns such as Southport, Wigan and St Helens also have accommodation and are accessible by public transport.
  • Liverpool has large stocks of student housing and offers an exciting city-based alternative.
All Edge Hill's campus facilities, social, healthcare, sporting, laundry, IT, library, etc, are available to off-campus students also.
