Robert Gordon University has been topping graduate employability surveys for a significant period of time. On the basis of its impressive graduate employment rate, the University has been named as the best modern university in the UK and one of the top universities in  the UK for graduate level of employment by The Times Good University Guide for 2010. The Guardian University Guide for 2010 has selected RGU as the Top University in Scotland for Career Prospects and 3rd equal in the UK.
 
For 2012, The Sunday Times University Guide has rated Robert Gordon University as the Best Modern University in the UK, partly due to its holding the best employment record for any UK university.

The Careers Centre at Robert Gordons plays an important role in the University’s high graduate employment rate. The centre helps future and current students with career planning and job searches. Prospective students can meet with the centre’s consultants to finalise their study plans depending on their strengths and career objectives. Current students can approach the centre to keep them abreast with the latest trends in the job market. Robert Gordon's graduates can also approach the centre for career guidance at any time.

JOBSHOP is the Career Centre’s database on vacancies and students can search this database for graduate employment opportunities, placements/internships, part-time and vacation work, voluntary work, scholarships and funding opportunities. The centre also conducts various career fairs during the academic year. These fairs allow students to meet directly with opportunity providers to discuss their employment prospects.
