Facilities

Robert Gordon University has spent millions of pounds towards establishing and modernising facilities in its two campuses.  Each of the University's many schools possesses subject-specific, state-of-the art academic facilities to render a world-class education.

The Garthdee campus houses modern lecture theatres, a television studio, an excellent moot court facility, numerous small group rooms and many executive education rooms. The campus also houses facilities to support modern and traditional techniques of design. Facilities to aid studies in physiotherapy, radiography and nursing are also available at this campus.

The Schoolhill campus possesses the latest equipment and facilities for pharmacy studies including a custom built Pharmaceutical Care Centre which comprises of a state-of-the art simulation of both primary and secondary healthcare environments including a GP surgery housing several thousand sets of primary care medical notes, a community pharmacy and a drug information centre.  The campus also houses a wide range of equipment meant for life science study such as spectrometers, chromatographs and DNA analysers.

The School of Computing in Schoolhill has various computer systems that include a machine room containing 8 Unix servers, 4 Netware servers, and 12 laboratories of various sizes with Dual Core @ 2.4GHz systems. In each laboratory there is access to the UNIX environment through emulation software.

IT Facilities
All students have access to the University's campus-wide network of over 2500 state-of-the-art, internet enabled PC's through library facilities and drop-in IT labs.

Sport Facilities
Robert Gordon University has invested over £11 million in a state-of-the-art sports facility, which has greatly improved the region’s sporting infrastructure and also acts as a social hub for the Garthdee campus. The facility features a 25m swimming pool, three gyms, climbing wall and bouldering room, cafe bar, three exercise studios and a vast sports hall.

Other Facilities
There are catering outlets on both campuses including Costa Coffee bars and student refectories selling a wide range of hot and cold dishes.

Students Association
The Student Association has its own building in the centre of the city with a shop, cafe bar, main bar, pool tables, big screen TV room, etc.  The association coordinates activities between different clubs and societies.
