Research

The Royal Agricultural College carries out active programmes of research and consultancy in association with other national as well as international academic and research centres. The research community has a high level of integration with the academic staff thereby facilitating communication and exchange of ideas.

The College offers guidance and support on a wide range of research areas at masters and doctoral levels.

  • Renewable energy and Biomass
  • Sustainable Rural Development
  • Equine Studies

The College imparts excellent training for all research students in formulating research enquiries, methodologies, statistics and IT as well as techniques needed for individual projects.

Current Research Projects

PhD students are currently engaged in a wide range of research areas such as legume agronomy, soil improvement, developing crop performance models for novel forage crops, Islamic banking, the South American coffee trade and evaluation of models for assessing milk quality.

Contract Research

The Royal Agricultural College has been extensively carrying out active programmes of contract research along with government, institutional and private sector clients. Some of the contract research sectors are:

An increasing portfolio of international research is also being undertaken that reflects the RAC's established and growing global links with both public and private sector clients.

Research and Consultancy are coordinated through the Business Development Centre (BDC), which provides a professional gateway to the intellectual resources of the College for all commercial services to individuals, companies, organisations and government departments.
