Admission and Scholarships

The application procedure to Kent depends on the students’ choice of courses. For JYA and other short term programmes, support will be available from the host university and the International Development office.

English Language Requirements

English Language Requirements: Students whose first language is not English, need to demonstrate their English language ability. The University of Kent accepts:

Students who do not meet the required English language requirements can take up Pre-Sessional English courses offered by the University.

Academic Entry Requirements:

Students need to meet country-specific entry requirements set by the University.

Application Process

A) Undergraduate Courses

All applications to undergraduate courses at Kent need to be submitted through UCAS. Applicants need to provide the institution code number, institution code name, campus code and the special code of the course they wish to pursue.

B) Postgraduate Courses

Students can apply for all postgraduate courses online. International students need to email a copy of the online application form to International Development along with the supporting documentations.

Students applying to the School of Pharmacy, Kent Business School, MBA courses, Business Application (MSc Management Suite) and Business Applications (Research programmes) can get relevant information from the departments.

C) Research Programmes

Students applying for PhD degrees need to fill out the respective application form from the academic schools’ websites, identify a supervisor in that research area, submit the application with two references, evidence of English language ability, a brief on the research proposal and supporting transcripts. The University provides specific faculty and department requirements.

D) Foundation courses

Students can apply for foundation courses either directly to the University or through UCAS. The University provides comprehensive information on the application procedures for foundation courses.

E) Pre-Sessional courses

To apply for a pre-sessional English language course, students can download the pre-sessional application form, which gives details of IELTS entry requirements, course length and deadlines.

F) Erasmus

Students who have been nominated to come to Kent as an Erasmus from the current university must complete the students’ application form.

G) Short-term study abroad

Short-term study abroad students may apply to study at Kent for a single academic year or for one or two terms only. Applicants can contact International Development for more information.

The University provides comprehensive information on the tuition fees for undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

Scholarships

The University and International Development offer a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate scholarships for all international students. Students are encouraged to visit the web pages of their academic School of interest at Kent for newly released School scholarships

In addition to these scholarships, the University offers postgraduate scholarships for international students under general and national schemes.
