Student Union
Kent Union, along with providing a wide variety of facilities, represents students’ interests in the University and offers help, support and advice when needed.
Sports facilities
The Department of Sport, Physical Activity and Recreation offer students, staff and members of the public extensive leisure facilities that include:
Societies and Unions
Kent Union currently has about 100 different societies and 40 different sports clubs. The range of societies available reflects the diverse nature of the campus community.
Library
The Templeman Library and Drill Hall Library offer state-of-the-art study facilities. The libraries have over a million books, journals, pamphlets, slides and microforms.
IT services
Kent provides computing and IT facilities to help with coursework, conducting research and communicating online.
Catering Services
The Canterbury campus offers a wide selection of catering solutions to meet the needs of students, staff and visitors. Students can enjoy a high standard of food, drink and entertainment to suit most tastes and budgets.
Career support
Kent has a Careers Advisory Service (CAS) which aims to help students make decisions and obtain information about their next step after graduation. This service provides help and advice to students of all subjects and nationalities about postgraduate study, choosing a career and obtaining employment and work experience.
Language Support
The Centre for English and World Languages provides free ongoing support and teaching for non-native speakers of English at Kent.
Students also have the opportunity to take courses in languages other than English.
Study Skills
The Student Learning Advisory Service at Kent is a free, friendly advice service providing guidance and information on all aspects of effective learning and study skills to all students.
Disability and Dyslexia Support
The University provides guidance and personal support for students with disabilities and/or dyslexia.
Accommodation
The student accommodation service provides information and advice for students looking for housing at Canterbury or Medway. The University offers college accommodation and self catering accommodation options to all new students for their first year of study, provided that the University's admissions criteria are met.
