Airport Pick-up service
Iowa State offers a shuttle from the airport to the ISU campus. There is a reasonable charge for this service which will be billed to the student’s account after the semester starts. Once the student has accepted their offer of admission, reservations can be made on line. Click here to register.  

Early Arrival Housing
International orientation takes place a few days before regular housing opens, so students will not be allowed to move into their permanent residence halls/apartments right away. Therefore, Iowa State offers them option to live in temporary housing. Students choosing to live in temporary housing will be billed $25 per night. Click here to register for temporary housing. If students choose not to stay in temporary housing, there are several hotels in Ames from which to choose.   

Orientation
Iowa State organizes a week-long orientation program for accepted students the week before classes begin. Students will register for their courses, take placement examinations, meet academic and international advisers, and learn about the University’s policies and procedures. Information on this program is posted on the International Students and Scholars Office webpage a few months before the semester begins.
