The field of anthropology covers a wide area and as such there are many options for doctoral research. PhD topics vary depending on the interests of each department’s research staff but may include areas of culture, philosophy, social identity, or the anthropology of particular regions. Anthropology courses may also be taught in conjunction with other departments such as history, biology and languages. You will develop analytical and research skills, and your aim is to write a thesis that makes a significant contribution to knowledge in this subject area.
