A PhD course in construction allows you to research an area of particular interest preparing you for a specialised or consultancy role in industry, or an academic career. Research areas vary by institution depending on the staff available to supervise your doctoral project however they may include planning and project management or areas of architectural design and theory. You will develop advanced knowledge as well as critical and creative abilities, and problem solving skills. The aim is to produce a thesis that demonstrates original thinking and innovative ideas for the industry.
