Doctoral courses in interior design allow you to research an area relating to the creation of commercial and domestic interior environments. PhD topics vary by institution and this course is offered by both design and built environment departments. With academic guidance you will research an area such as restoration, sustainability or new design technologies, developing expert knowledge as well as creative and critical thinking skills. Your aim is to produce a thesis, or portfolio with commentary, that makes an original contribution to this area of design.
