A PhD in Sports science involves a research project relating to one of the key disciplines: psychology, physiology and biomechanics. Courses in sports marketing and management are also on offer. Doctoral course options vary depending on your choice of institution and the expertise of their staff but may include motor programming, stress and performance, participation motivation or clinical exercise physiology. You will develop a thorough understanding of your area of sports science, presenting your work in a final thesis which must demonstrate evidence of original research and ideas.
