Postgraduate courses in environmental science cover a wide range of topics and are taught by a variety of different departments. Most are research programmes allowing you to investigate an area of interest through classes, laboratory sessions, field work and independent study. Topics might include sustainable development, ecology and environmental biology. There are also postgraduate taught courses such as environmental engineering. As well as specialised knowledge you will develop analytical skills which are useful in employment, alternatively you may prefer further academic research.
