Postgraduate law courses focus on an area of particular legal interest such as corporate law, environmental law, or intellectual property. You may be looking at a law masters because you have an undergraduate degree and now want to research a topic in more depth, or you work in the legal profession and are looking to develop your expertise. Courses vary in their balance of taught classes, seminars and personal study, but research leading to a dissertation will make up a large part of your postgraduate law degree. In order to practise law you will need to take further professional exams.
