Postgraduate sociology courses allow you to explore and challenge current ideas relating to human social behaviour. Research courses cover a wide range of sociological topics including cultural change, ethnicity, gender studies, popular culture, religion, and science and technology. As well as taking core modules you will undertake a research project and produce a dissertation. You will also develop your study skills and learn applied research methodologies; there are some taught courses that focus on these practical elements to prepare you for careers requiring social observation.
