Overview

What makes Trinity Laban stand out?

  1. We are a 21st Century Conservatoire: The UK’s only Conservatoire of Music and Contemporary Dance, Trinity Laban has created a unique conjunction with exciting opportunities for collaboration between instrumentalists, singers, composers, dancers and choreographers.
  2. Our faculties are renowned for their excellence:You will be taught by renowned teachers at the top of their profession including respected performers, principals from major orchestras and chamber ensembles, eminent composers and world-class choreographers. You will also be able to take part in master classes given by some of the most well-known names in the music and dance industries.
  3. Our graduates are highly employable: 98.8% of our first degree leavers in 2012-13 were in employment or further study six months after graduation. Our alumni make up a thriving community of artists around the world. Trinity Laban alumni include: conductor Sir John Barbirolli; composer Fela Kuti, composer Dai Fujikura; Lee Ching-Chun, Associate Artistic Director of Cloud Gate Dance Theatre of Taiwan; jazz musicians Mark Nightingale, Adam Waldmann and Martin Speake; Marcella Puppini - founder of the Puppini Sisters, choreographers Matthew Bourne, Luca Silvestrini (Protein Dance) and Lea Anderson (The Cholmondeleys and The Featherstonehaughs).
  4. You will be exposed to numerous exciting performance opportunities both within our facilities and at some of London's most famous venues. You will also have the opportunity to participate in prestigious competitions, annual music festivals, daily recitals, composition concert series, devised musicals, agent showcases or join one of our many performing ensembles. Furthermore, two weeks of the year are dedicated to Trinity Laban’s unique CoLab project, in which dance and music students work together to create, develop and rehearse their own unique projects.
  5. Our vibrant programme of over 600 performances a year presents an eclectic mix of professional and student work from leading artists in the UK and on an international scale, which means that as a Trinity Laban student you will have even more performance opportunities.
  6. We offer our students world-class facilities within landmark buildings: our Faculty of Music is housed within the stunning Christopher Wren designed King Charles Court, part of the Old Royal Naval College, a World Heritage Site on the River Thames; whereas our Faculty of Dance is housed in the Laban Building, the winner of a Stirling Prize, specifically designed for dance training and performance.
  7. You will benefit from our purpose-built dance studios, a digital recording studio, over 80 practice rooms for Brass, Composition, Early Music, Harp, Jazz and Percussion, elegant rooms for chamber music, Theatre Studio etc.
  8. We take great care to ensure our students’ wellbeing and for that reason we offer a range of health treatments such as acupuncture, physiotherapy or acupressure massage within our on-site clinic.
  9. We provide a lot of student support: counselling, career advice disability and learning support is available for all of our students.
