The Newcastle University is a research intensive public university which was established in 1834. Located in Newcastle, United Kingdom, the University comprises of 18,000 students. The teaching schools within the University are divided into three main faculties which include the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Faculty of Medical Sciences and Faculty of Science, Agriculture and Engineering. Apart from these, there are also nearly 15 research departments mainly dealing with medicine and surgery. While university-owned or managed partnership accommodation is guaranteed for first year students, others can apply for the catered or self-catered residences.
