Swansea Metropolitan University was formerly known as Swansea Institute, it has been a major centre for the delivery of vocational higher education for more than 150 years. It is located at Mount Pleasant, UK. Its School of Art was established in 1853 and teacher education in 1872. It is one of the newest universities in the United Kingdom and received its university status in January 2008. The various subjects are offered through three Faculties, namely, The Faculty of Applied Design and Engineering; The Faculty of Art and Design and The Faculty of Humanities.
