The University of Worchester, a public university, was established in 1946 but attained university status only in 2005. It is located at Henwick Grove, Worchester, and has a current student population of around 8,000 students. The University operates out of the Institute of Science and the Environment, Institute of Humanities and Creative Arts, Worcester Business School, Institute of Education, Institute of Health, Social Care and Psychology and Institute of Sport and Exercise Science.
