Founded in 1896, Adelphi University is a private institution of higher education on Long Island. It has a student body of more than 8,300. Adelphi offers degrees in the arts, sciences, humanities, business, education, nursing and health maintenance, social welfare, and clinical psychology. It offers programs at 3 locations—Hauppauge Center, Manhattan Center and Hudson Valley Center—in addition to the Garden City campus, which is the main campus situated close to New York City. Garden City offers undergraduate and graduate degrees, post-doctoral study and adult education programs through its schools.
