Founded in 1900 as the University of Dallas Medical Department, the college is located in Houston's Texas Medical Center. Baylor is the only private medical school in the Greater Southwest. It is known for excellence in education, research and patient care.Currently, BCM trains more than 3,000 medical, graduate, nurse anesthesia and physician assistant students, as well as residents and post-doctoral fellows through its Medical School, School of Allied Health and Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences.
