Founded in 1969, the Governors State University is a public university located in University Park, Illinois. It serves approximately 6,000 students currently. Instead of semesters, the university operates on trimesters of 15 weeks that continue through Fall, Winter and Spring-Summer.The university conducts 48 degree programs that are offered at the undergraduate and graduate level in addition to 17 certificate programs which are spanned across its 5 colleges: Arts and Sciences, Business and Public Administration, Education, Health Professions, and University College.
