Greensboro College, an independent, coeducational institution affiliated with the United Methodist Church, was founded in 1838. The College enrolls nearly 1,300 students.The school offers several graduate and honors programs. Under graduate programs are offered in several fields which include, accounting, art, athletic training, biology, birth through kindergarten education, business administration and economics, chemistry, criminal justice, elementary education, English and communication studies, English, exercise and sport studies, French, history, history and political science, mathematics education, mathematics and middle grades education.
