Illinois Wesleyan University (IWU) is a highly selective liberal arts university. Founded in 1850, Illinois Wesleyan has grown to become one of the USA’s leading liberal arts institutions. The University enrolls just under 2,000 undergraduates from across the USA and around the globe.
Illinois Wesleyan is located in the central Illinois twin cities of Bloomington-Normal, a community of 130,000 located about two hours south of Chicago and north of St. Louis. Illinois Wesleyan's distinctive liberal arts curriculum is at the core of its 80 majors, minors and programs. The University's residential campus covers 85 tree-filled acres and has 53 buildings, including 23 living options. Co-curricular programming is diverse, with 200 student organizations and groups and 22 athletic teams for men and women.
First-year housing is guaranteed for international students, and two years in campus housing is required.
The IWU Hart Career Center offers students career guidance, internship facilitation, graduate school advising, and job search assistance. A wide variety of career related events are coordinated throughout the year.
