Lake Tahoe Community College is located in South Lake Tahoe, California. The College opened in 1975 and currently enrols approximately 3,500 students. It offers associate degrees and certificate programs. Some of the areas in which these courses are offered are art, anthropology, communications, environmental science, humanity, philosophy, political science, theatre arts and world languages. Students also have the option to transfer to a four-year university program in which the College offers the equivalent of the first two years of a four-year university program.
