The Massachusetts Maritime Academy was founded in 1891 as the Massachusetts Nautical Training School. The Academy is located in Buzzards Bay, Massachusetts. Students can earn a Bachelor of Science degree or a Merchant Marine Officers License or a Naval Officers Commission. The BS degrees are awarded in Emergency Management, Facility Management, International Maritime Business, Marine Engineering, Marine Safety and Environmental Protection, and Marine Transportation. The Academy also offers the master degree in Facilities and Emergency Management and other professional/continuing education programs.
