Founded in 1824, Rensselaer is located in Troy, NY, 150 miles north of New York City. It offers 140 bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees in nearly 60 fields. The main campuses are at Troy, N.Y. and Hartford, Conn., besides locations around the globe. Apart from offering study programs in the regular fields like Architecture, Engineering, Arts, Science and Computers, the institute offers research programs in areas such as biotechnology, nanotechnology, advanced materials, microelectronics, information technology, computational modeling and simulation and electronic arts.
