Santa Monica College, with a 38-acre main campus near the beach, is a College with one of the largest international student population accommodating more than 2,500 students from 100 different countries. Concerts, plays, arts, photo shows, and lectures are part of the cultural and recreational offerings of the College. It entertains south California with an award-winning KCRW radio station. The academy of entertainment and technology of this College has strong links with Hollywood. The Emeritus College, with a mission to educate people over 55 years in downtown Santa Monica, was established in 1975.
