Founded in 1881, South Dakota State University has an enrollment of 11,400 students with over 200 majors and minors. It is located in Brookings, South Dakota.
Degrees are offered through eight colleges: Agriculture and Biological Sciences, Arts and Science, Education and Counseling, Engineering, Family and Consumer Sciences, General Studies and Outreach Programs, Nursing, and Pharmacy, as well as the Graduate School. South Dakota State University is accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools. The university offers doctorates in nursing, geospatial science and engineering and computational science and statistics engineering.
