Three Bible schools merged to form the Southwestern Assemblies of God University (then Southwestern Bible Institute). In 1943, the combined institute moved to its present facilities in Waxahachie, Texas. It is a private institution of higher learning enrolling approximately 1,700 students. The university comprises of 2 colleges, the College of Arts & Professions and the College of Bible of Church Ministries. It offers associates, certificate and bachelors degree in several fields. Masters degree is awarded in Biblical Studies, Counseling Psychology, Education, Missionary Studies and Missiology, and Theological and Ministerial Studies.
