Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center dates back to 1969 as the Texas Tech University School of Medicine. Today it is a six-school university located in Abilene, Amarillo, Dallas/Fort Worth, El Paso, Highland Lakes, Lubbock, Midland and Odessa. About 10,000 professionals have been trained by the Center till date. Preserving wellness and treating disease ranging from cancer and heart disease to aging are carried out at the Center through their Schools of Nursing, Allied Health Sciences, Pharmacy, Graduate Biomedical Sciences and Medical Schools in El Paso and Lubbock.
