Founded in 1901 as the Girls Industrial College, the school was renamed Texas Womans University in 1957. The publicly-funded University offers undergraduate, graduate and doctoral programs through the College of Arts & Sciences, College of Health Sciences, College of Nursing and College of Professional Education. The Universitys campuses in Denton, Dallas and Houston in Texas are joined by an e-learning campus offering online degree programs in business, education and general studies. In Fall 2007, there were 12,183 students enrolled in various programs at the University.
