The University of Alabama, founded in 1831, is a public institution located in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Alabama has an enrollment of more than 21,000 students. The university awards bachelors, masters and doctoral degrees in more than 200 fields of study. The eight divisions that grant undergraduate degrees are: Arts and Sciences, Commerce and Business Administration, Communication and Information Sciences, Education, Engineering, Human Environmental Sciences, Nursing and Social Work.
