The University of California Davis is one of the 10 campuses of the University of California, which was chartered as a land grant college in 1868. The University is a publicly-funded institute that offers more than 100 undergraduate majors and 86 graduate programs. The University has five professional schools - the School of Education, the School of Law, the Graduate School of Management, the School of Medicine and the School of Veterinary Medicine. There were 31,426 students enrolled at the University in Fall 2008.
