Founded in 1889, the University of New Mexico is a publicly-funded institution located in Albuquerque. The University has branch campuses at Gallup, Los Alamos Taos and Valencia. The University offers undergraduate and graduate programs in management, arts & sciences, education, fine arts, nursing, pharmacy, architecture and planning, engineering, law, medicine and public administration. According to summer 2007 figures, there were 8,037 students at the Albuquerque campus.
