The Western Illinois University, a public institution, initially opened as the Western Illinois Normal School in 1902-03. The main campus is located in Macomb, Illinois, whereas Western Illinois University - Quad Cities is in Moline, Illinois. There are currently 13,400 students enrolled at the institution. The university is comprised of four academic colleges: Arts & Sciences, Business & Technology, Education & Human Services, and Fine Arts & Communication. The university awards undergraduate and graduate degrees; it also offers a doctorate of education in Educational Leadership.
