Western Nevada College, a private institution, was established in 1971. It is located in Carson City, Nevada and currently enrolls around 5,300 students. The college operates out of campuses at Fallon and Minden/Gardnerville as well as at several instructional centers. It offers associate degrees, bachelors degrees and certificate programs in several disciplines. Some of the programs offered are in the fields of engineering science and construction technology, nursing, musical theatre, information technology, geographic information systems, criminal justice and graphic communication.
