Eligibility requirements
Students whose parents are employed by one of over 160 colleges participating in the Tuition Exchange Program are eligible to apply for a Tuition Exchange Scholarship.
Application details
- To apply, you must first contact your home university liaison and fill out the application. Freshman applicants and current AU students must submit their Tuition Exchange application by January 10. Transfer students must submit their Tuition Exchange application by March 1.
- Tuition Exchange is a competitive scholarship based on academics.Not all admitted students who apply for Tuition Exchange will receive the scholarship.
- Students are able to renew their scholarship each year provided the student takes at least 12 credits every semester, maintains a 3.2 or higher cumulative GPA, completes a total of 30 credits within the academic year (fall and spring semesters), maintains eligibility at their home institution and submits the recertification application byJanuary 10 of each academic year.
Value details
The scholarship for the academic year of 2017-2018 is a set amount of USD $35,000 and is not a full tuition scholarship.

Eligibility requirements
The FDDS program offers a scholarship that provides full tuition, mandatory fees, books, UPass, room, and board. It is renewable for a total of four years of undergraduate study, provided scholars maintain a minimum cumulative 3.2 GPA. Historically underrepresented minority students and students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to first-generation student leaders. While we encourage applications from all ambitious, well-rounded student leaders, the most competitive applicants will have a minimum 3.8 GPA (unweighted) or 4.0 GPA (weighted). Submission of ACT or SAT scores are optional.

To apply to the Frederick Douglass Scholarship Program, please select your interest in the program on your application. The application will be available in August. Notification of admission to the FDDS Program will not be released until April 1, regardless of application deadline.

AU Honors Scholarship

Eligibility requirements
The AU Honors Scholarship is contingent on recipients maintaining continuous enrollment in the AU Honors Program. Should a scholarship recipient choose to withdraw from the AU Honors Program at any point during the year, the AU Honors Scholarship (USD $10,000) will be withdrawn, even if students meet the Satisfactory Academic Progress conditions.

First-year student who are accepted into the AU Honors Program for fall 2017 will receive a guaranteed USD $30,000 in combination of undergraduate merit awards. This includes a USD $20,000 Presidential Scholarship and a USD $10,000 AU Honors Scholarship.
