Entry requirements

Entry requirements

To gain admission at Flinders, students must fulfil two types of entry requirements, academic and English language requirements.

Academic entry requirements

For direct admission to an undergraduate course, a student should have successfully completed a recognised secondary education qualification.

For entry into a postgraduate course, in addition to the language entry requirements, students must also meet the specific academic criteria listed for that course.

English language entry requirements

International students whose native language is not English must meet the English language entry requirements. Students who do not fulfil the English language and academic entry requirements can apply to one of the pathway programs available. Education at Flinders will ensure that students learn the latest industry techniques and skills required to be highly employable on graduation.

According to The 2019 Graduate Outcome Survey, 98.2 per cent of Flinders postgraduates are employed and 94.6 per cent of them are in full time employment with a median full time salary of AUD 81,200. This has been recorded as the second highest graduate employment rate in the country of any university. For undergraduates, the overall employment three years after completion is 93.1 per cent, with 88.2 per cent in full time employment with a median salary of AUD 60,000.

At Flinders, students have access to a Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) facility during their studies. WIL helps with opportunities such as placements, practicums, field studies, and simulated workplace activities, helping students gain demanding industry skills and form a strong professional network.

The Flinders Ignite Mentoring Program is also available to assist students. Peer mentors will help students by guiding them through university life and help students gain required knowledge, expertise, and skills to enter the professional world.

Flinders’ CareerHub is the Flinders online employment portal, which is available to students who wish to prepare and find the job they want. It offers comprehensive services such as personalised job opportunities, access to employer events as well as career-related resources.
