The Bachelor of Advanced Finance and Economics (Honours) is a four-year program that develops the analytical rigour needed for a high-powered career in finance and economics, whether in the international banking sector or beyond. Study advanced courses from your first year that covers topics including microeconomics, macroeconomics, financial management, financial accounting, econometrics, and data analytics and management. Choose to major in either Economics or Finance by the end of your third year. Majors are optional Ð if you prefer, you can complete a more general pathway and undertake a range of electives and a team project. Eligibility requirements:

This scholarship is awarded to students who have completed their foundation year at The International Education Services Ltd (IES) and seeking admission to the Bachelor of Economics (BEcon).

  • Criteria based on academic achievement in the Foundation Year. 
  • Previous study of economics at school or college is not required for enrolment in the BEcon degree or for the scholarship.
  • Students applying for a dual degree with BEcon are also eligible, e.g. BEcon/LLB, BEcon/BA, BEcon/BEng etc., in which case the scholarship will cover up to 25% of the fees for the BEcon component only, i.e. 36 units required for the BEcon.

  • Citizens of India, who normally reside in India and are not already undertaking any studies in Australia. Those studying English in Australia are still eligible to apply.

  • Students who have received an unconditional offer for the Bachelor of Economics who are commencing students at UQ or for a relevant postgraduate coursework program.
