What will I learn?

A Bachelor of Business Information Systems develops the technical and creative skills required for making effective ICT business decisions in a global context. This course delivers a grounding in business analysis, data management and systems infrastructure, as well as leadership, team building and project management skills. Business Information Systems degree graduates have the flexibility to take on an ever-evolving business climate.

The Bachelor of Business Information Systems course focuses on the introduction and development of skills to prepare you for a career as an information system professional. You will learn critical academic skills, and knowledge and applications of information systems across a variety of businesses. The Bachelor of Business Information Systems has a total of 240-credit points and consists of 16 core subjects. Six core subjects are at level 100, five at level 200 and five at level 300. There are also eight elective subjects (80 credits), two at level 100, three at level 200 and three at level 300.

Subjects and units

This course comprises of 24 subjects, which includes 16 core subjects and 8 elective subjects. Each subject involves 10 hours of study per week, comprising 3 hours of facilitated study and 7 hours self-directed study.

International students must not enrol in more than one-third (33%) of online subjects over their course and must study at least one face-to-face subject each study period. Most face-to-face courses are also available online. Please note that due to COVID-19 pandemic, authorities have provided exceptions to the usual face-to-face learning requirements.

International students on a student visa are required to study full time, i.e., the student must complete a minimum of 1.0 EFTSL of study per year.

Students are required to complete international Qualifications equivalent to Australian Year 12.
