What will I learn?

The Bachelor of Creative Industries allows you to combine your skills across various media and creative technologies, preparing you for a diverse career pathway. The program brings together a variety of units across SAE’s disciplines in film, music, audio, animation, design, virtual reality, augmented reality, and games development.

Alongside specialist creative skills in multiple disciplines, you will craft your communication, project management, and entrepreneurial abilities, learning to think innovatively, creatively, and technically within a complex industry ecosystem.

With a Bachelor of Creative Industries, you’ll be ready for cutting-edge industry roles using modern creative business concepts and strategies. Career options include Arts Administrator, Digital Content Producer, Film Producer, or Multimedia Entrepreneur.

Students have the opportunity to cross-collaborate with students from all disciplines. The cross collaboration of Creative Industries students with other Animation, Audio, Games Development, and Design students allows for highly sophisticated project-based learning and applications. Working with teams of diverse skills and backgrounds also simulates real-world industry and provides experience in project management and team management.

In addition to project-based learning, Bachelor of Creative Industries students are provided the opportunity to undertake workplace internships with companies in a variety of industries.

SAE Bachelor of Creative Industries offers:

Develop advanced skills in industry-standard software packages: Autodesk Maya, Autodesk 3ds Max, ToonBoom Harmony, Adobe Creative Suite, Unity, Unreal Engine 4, Foundry NukeX, Pixologic and Ableton.
Practical, Immersive training: Engage in studio-based projects applying skills learned throughout the course to real-life creative scenarios.
Cross-discipline collaboration: Through collaborative project design, development, and management you will devise inventive creative solutions, applying ideas and content that uses mixed media and technologies.

For students from United States

Applicants must have successfully completed secondary studies (high school). English Language Requirements: IELTS Academic: 6.0 overall score. No band score less than 5.5; PTE (Pearson Test of English) Academic: 54 overall score; TOEFL paper based test: 550 overall score; TOEFL iBT (Internet Based Test): 73 overall score.

For international students

Minimum Age

International students seeking admission to SAE must be at least 18 years of age prior to the commencement of their study.

Academic requirements

Successful completion of secondary school studies (assessed as an equivalent of Australian Year 12 secondary studies). Minimum overall pass is required.

English language requirements

  • International English Language Testing Sydney (IELTS): An overall score of 6.0 or higher with no individual band lower than 5.5 (only the Academic Test is accepted), OR
  • Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL): 73 overall (internet-based test), OR
  • Pearson Test of English (PTE): Academic score of 46 or higher, OR
  • Completion of Year 12 English in an Australian secondary school or college or equivalent with a minimum result of “Satisfactory” or equivalent.
  • Successful completion of an Academic English program with an SAE-approved Australian-based English partner.
